Clym Stock-Williams has worked in the energy industry since 2007. Through a (healthy!) obsession with improving decision making, his work has evolved over time from solving small (and primarily technical) challenges as a consultant, to large (and primarily people-based) ones as a leader.
He now heads the Operational Excellence department in Vattenfall’s offshore wind business, enabling the organisation to work in everbetter alignment: delivering more renewable energy for less cost, with safer and happier employees.
The diverse team he brought together comes from many backgrounds and countries, engaging colleagues with mindsets and tools from Lean, Agile, Design Thinking and Organisational Psychology – among other fields. British by birth, Clym has lived happily in the Netherlands for the past 8 years.

Professor Mayorkinos Papaelias is a leading academic in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Condition Monitoring, currently serving as a Professor at the School of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Birmingham.
He earned his Ph.D. in Metallurgy from the same university in 2004, following an MSc in New Materials from the University of Aberdeen and a B.Eng. (Hons.) in Materials Science and Engineering from Queen Mary, University of London.
His research focuses on structural health monitoring, particularly in the energy and transport sectors, with applications in wind turbines, railway systems, and marine infrastructure and robotic systems.
Professor Papaelias has published over 150 peerreviewed journal and conference papers and has co-authored and edited several books, including Maintenance Management (2020) and Non Destructive Testing and Condition Monitoring Techniques in Wind Energy (2023).
He has led and contributed to numerous high-impact European research projects under FP6, FP7, H2020, and Horizon Europe, such as OPTIMUS, ENDURUNS, and MERLIN.
In addition to his academic work, he is an active member of professional bodies, chairing the Education Committee of the International Society for Condition Monitoring, and has served as a consultant to various industrial and research organizations.
His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate courses in NDT, condition monitoring, and nuclear reactor physics, reflecting his deep commitment to both research excellence and education.

Wangwen Zhao is offshore wind engineering director and has over 30 years’ experience in the offshore industry after his PhD on structural reliability and risk-based inspection at Imperial College.
He is a chartered engineer and a member of the committee of BS7910 for defect assessment of metallic structures.
His experiences span from creating cutting edge technology in fatigue design and risk-based inspection to designing offshore wind foundations, to providing technical authorities in offshore operation and maintenance.
He was chief engineer or technical director in the past 15 years in the offshore wind industry with companies such as ODE, Worley and Mott MacDonald prior to AtkinsRéalis.
He has also some years of integrity management experiences with Bomel (now DNV) and ABS.
He has pioneered probabilistic design methods in his PhD work in the 1990s. Throughout his career, he has applied and advanced risk-based design and inspection for offshore oil and gas and offshore wind facilities.

Nick Hucker is an Associate Mechanical Engineer in the Advanced Technology team, part of the Design & Advanced Technology practice of Infrastructure at AtkinsRéalis.
He joined AtkinsRéalis in September 2008 and has worked on finite element modelling, vibration monitoring and structural fatigue analysis.
Nick also has significant experience of the wind turbine industry, including an extended secondment with Vestas, a major turbine manufacturer. Working on turbine control systems, load simulation and monopile fatigue analysis.
He has also carried out load monitoring assessments on multiple offshore wind farms, including Greater Gabbard, for over 10 years. These load assessments include peak and fatigue load assessments, natural frequency monitoring, controller upgrade assessment and simulation validation.
His role on Greater Gabbard as load monitoring workstream lead has led to him authoring the load monitoring sections of the Greater Gabbard best practice guide and publishing a paper on natural frequency monitoring as part of a structural health monitoring system.

Since joining the Carbon Trust in 2022, Arturo has managed the Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) Logistics and O&M Working Group for over four years, supporting industry collaboration on vessel operations, ports, and offshore logistics.
In parallel, he has been working on the Floating Offshore Wind Joint Industry Programme (FLWJIP), where he has managed multiple projects focused on floating wind, where he has managed multiple projects with a focus on floating substructures.
He has led and contributed to offshore wind advisory and capacity‑building work in Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Chile, supporting governments and developers on infrastructure and port readiness, seabed requirements, environmental and social considerations, and early‑stage bankability.
Arturo holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Leeds and has strong analytical and technical expertise in global offshore wind.
